Here's A List For You To Read:

I will summarise my stupid weekend for people who read this here blog.

1) Friday night - Saw The Cat Empire play on Friday night with Lucas and Tanja. Was quite good. They pull their stuff off live very well. Heaps of people were singing along to their songs, which bugs me a great deal, but I tuned it out as best I could. Proved inspirational to Lucas, who, after seeing their drummer do his thing, decided to start drumming with his wrists, which leads me into

2) Saturday - Lucas, Pete and I had a session on Saturday. Pete's playing was quite good. Not the style I was expecting, although in all honesty, I had no idea what I expected him to play. He's easily able to play stuff that I feed him though, as he's sure as hell better than me. Oh, and here's a thing: We played for at least four hours, which doesn't happen often. Lucas and I usually run out of energy/ideas after the first two/three hours. This was partly because Lucas realised the benefits of drumming with one's wrists: You don't get tired so damned quickly. At any rate, I think I'll definitely see if Pete'll be interested in joining us next week.

3) Saturday night - Lucas, Jane and I saw Zombie Ghost Train play at the Annandale on Saturday night. Only one notable supporting band played prior to them, although I can't remember their name. Lucas? The ska outfit? Anyway, the Train played a kickarse set, as per usual. Also, Jane got drunk (very, VERY drunk), then was kicked out of the venue...then she snuck back in. The less said about that, the better.

4) Sunday - D&D was cancelled on Sunday, so I got a bunch of boring crap done that is even less exciting than what I just blogged about.

How was YOUR weekend?

Comments:
Good thing I didn't make it then huh? Sorry abotu that, started watching Red Dwarf and before I knew it, it was 1:50am.

Also good because the last thing I need right now would have been a drunk Jane falling over me.

And nobody wants that. *angered*

Yes, I was playing with me wrists fairly stiff, which quieted my playing and gave me better staying power in beats as well as in general.

The Ska band was the Casino Rumblers. Why are all trombone players big fat bikie-lookin' guys? They were fun, despite the psychobilly crowd being a bit put off.
